My New Utah Party Quiz and Presentation

At convention SR announced that they were taking a new marketing approach that would reach more potential customers.  The "Home Store"  I have received training several times on this approach and I realy like it. But I have not been sucessfull with it at my parties.  I live in Utah and there is a very strong food storage culture here.  I have mixed some of my old food strage presentation and some of the new home store apporach and come up with my own presentation.

Food Storage Presentation
Tonight we are going to have a great time, learn about food storage, and how to obtain it, and afford it.  We will eat some great food and order some great products.
I wanted to thank Elise for being such a great host and deciding to be a consultant.  As a host she will earn 10% of all sales in free products and 50% off $100.00 for each party that is booked off of this party.  So let’s see if we can help her build her food storage.

Serve Cornbread:  Elise is passing out our first sample of the night. This is cornbread and honeybutter. The cornbread is made with all food storage ingredients and so is the honey butter. The both use powdered butter. Give it a try and see if you can tell.  This is one of my favorite recipes which utilizes food storage.  My husband requests this every time I am menu planning and ask him what he wants to eat.  It is fast and easy.

3.        How long does food storage last?  Which food has the longest shelf life?

Depends on the food.  Anywhere from a couple of years to 30 + years. On average 15 to 20 years. Most Thrive foods last 30 years.

4.       What is the difference between Freeze Dried and Dehydrated?
When food is dehydrated it is heated to remove the water from food changing its shape and structure—Think of a Raisin

When freeze dried it is frozen, then placed in a vacuum that vaporized the water, this allows food to keep its shape and maintain a much longer shelf life and better taste quality.

There is a difference in dehydrated foods.

Serve Chicken Salad:  Here is our second sample. This is chicken salad.  It has chicken, celery, onion, mayo and salt and pepper in it.  What do you think?  The chicken in this salad is freeze dried.  It is shelf stable for 25 years unopened  and once opened you have 1 year to use it.  It does not need to be refrigerated.  All of the freeze dried products are just the product no seasoning so when you get your chicken remember it will need to be seasoned as you normally season chicken 
5.       What is your least favorite food prep job?
Chopping onions is mine.  I love onions and my husband wants then chopped tiny.  I do not have the patients to chop onions into miniscule pieces.  Freeze Dried Onions have saved us.  No I don’t have to chop onions I just throw a hand full of our Freeze Dried onions in and tada. No tears, or stinky hands, and best of all my husband and kids don’t freak out when they see an onion.

Where did you rate yourself?  How prepared  do you feel?  I think I would rate myself at a 6.  I think when I started as a consultant for shelf reliance I was probably a 3 but now I am doing much better and I feel as if there was an emergency my family would be okay, but there are a lot of things I need to do better at.

8.        What things to I need to focus on to improve my emergency preparedness/food storage?
Right now I am focusing on grains.  I have some wheat and now I am getting things like cornmeal and pancake mix, germaid and 7 grain cereal.
If you don’t start now then a year from now you will be exactly where you are now.
